Pergasingan Hill is one of the most beautiful hill in Lombok island. It is located in Sembalun village, east Lombok regency with an altitude of 1700 above the sea level. Pergasingan hill offers hikers a best option to hike beside see Rinjani. The scenery of Rinjani mountain from the hill is so beautiful. By climbing less than three hours, hikers can see the panorama of Sembalun village and Rinjani as the background from the peak of the hill. Climbing the hill is a smart way to have a warming up before doing a harder trek to mount Rinjani.
Pergasingan literally means playing Gasing; one of Lombok traditional game which is played by using cone shape wood that is tied then spun on a land. Locals said that long time ago the people of Sembalun especially royal families got used to hike the hill and made such a Gasing game competition. It has been believed that is the origin of the hill’s name.
The hill can be reached in approximately 3 hours driving from Lombok International Airport and 2.5 hours from Mataram, the capital of the province.
